Azeri AZAL airline cancels flights to Almaty

The AZAL temporarily suspends its flights to Almaty, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told at the press service of the airline.

"This decision was made in connection with the events underway in Kazakhstan," the AZAL spokesperson has stated.

"All the passengers who have bought tickets for the flights along the Baku-Almaty route and back will have a chance to have their money back in full, or offered free rebooking," the official from the press service has explained.

The Baku-Almaty flight was operated by the AZAL every week on Fridays; and the Almaty-Baku one took place on Saturdays. Let us note here that the AZAL operated flights to only one Kazakh city. In its turn, the Kazakh airline "Air Astana" operates flights from Nur-Sultan to Baku.

In Kazakhstan, the Almaty Airport has suspended work, as protesters have seized it; its employees and passengers were evacuated, the "Gazeta.ru" has reported
