Three residents of Dagestan accused of bride abduction

Three men have been arrested on charges of abducting a woman from Karabudakhkent, who refused to marry one of them. The case has been sent to the court, the Dagestani Prosecutor's Office has informed.

The abduction was committed in September. The girl was released on the same day by her relatives, after which she turned to the police. According to investigators, the abductors, a resident of Makhachkala and two residents of the Karabudakhkent District, has known in advance about the girl's unwillingness to marry one of them. The abducted woman was held in one of the villages of the Buinaksky District, with a relative of one of the abductors.

The case was initiated under the article of abduction, which provides for up to 12 years in prison, says the post placed on the website of the Dagestani Prosecutor's Office. The period of detainees arrest and which court will consider this case, the post does not specify.
