Speaker of Chechen parliament criticizes Ingush Council of Teips

Magomed Daudov, the speaker of the Chechen parliament, accused the Ingush Council of Teips of provocation in connection with the declaration about the land at the border between the two republics and announced his willingness to meet his opponents. Magomed Daudov repeated the Ramzan Kadyrov’s threat to “take off pants” voiced against those dissatisfied with the position of the Chechen authorities.

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that on November 13, Ramzan Kadyrov announced that he could take away part of lands from Ingushetia. Earlier, the leader of Chechnya explained that a protest against the work on the bank of the Fortanga River was organized in Ingushetia by a “bunch of provocateurs.”

On November 11, the “Chechenavtodor” carried out works on the bank of the Fortanga River, along which the border with Ingushetia passes. Workers directed the river waters aside, which provoked indignation in Ingushetia. Minister of Natural Resources of Ingushetia Magomed Evloev called the actions of the Chechen workers illegal. On November 12, residents of the Sunzha District organized a gathering, but officials persuaded them to disperse and promised to solve the problem.

In his video, Magomed Daudov spoke harshly about the Ingush Council of Teips. According to him, members of the Ingush Council of Teips once again raised the issue of land belonging and the agreement on borders between the two republics. Magomed Daudov considered the above a provocation and said that “no one would shake hands” of the members of the Ingush Council of Teips now. The speaker of the Chechen parliament also confirmed the Ramzan Kadyrov’s threat to “take off pants and make a flag out of them” voiced against those who would cross the Fortanga River and declare the land Ingush. Magomed Daudov suggested that those dissatisfied with the position of the Chechen authorities would mention the date and place of the border crossing in order to meet them and fulfil his promise.
