Six people arrested in Turkey for preparing attack on Chechen oppositionists

Four Russians, a citizen of Ukraine and a citizen of Uzbekistan have been detained in Istanbul on charges of plotting an attack on opposition figures from Chechnya.

The six suspects of preparing armed attacks in Istanbul and Antalya were detained on October 8. They are Russian citizens Abdula Abdulaev, Ravshan Akhmedov, Bislan Rasaev and Aslanbek Abdulmuslimov, a citizen of Ukraine, Igor Efrim, and a citizen of Uzbekistan, Amir Yusupov, the Turkish newspaper "Hurriyet" has reported.

The court has arrested them on charges of political and military espionage.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in September Khasan Khalitov, a blogger, accused Chechen law enforcers of kidnapping his relatives. He also stated that Chechen authorities are behind the announcement of blood feud against him and several families in Chechnya. He called on the head of Chechnya to send his representative to Turkey to "sort it out." In October, Kadyrov travelled to Turkey with his assistant Akhmed Dudaev. He said that they never met any of the "shaitans," who had declared their readiness to meet the head of Chechnya. In response, Khalitov reproached Kadyrov's associates for cowardice, suggesting that they had deliberately avoided meeting with him.
