Donbass residents awarded Russian passports to vote at elections in Rostov Region
On September 17, about 400 residents of Donbass have received Russian passports; immediately after that, they were taken by buses to polling stations in the Rostov Region.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on September 16, the head of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic said that bus and rail flights would be organized for the residents of Donbass who wish to vote in the Rostov Region at elections to the Russian State Duma.
Both local residents and residents of the self-proclaimed Lugansk People's Republic voted at polling station No. 966, located in the district Palace of Culture in the town of Krasny Sulin, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports. They received Russian passports in Krasny Sulin, and then were taken by buses to the polling station.
One of the newcomers told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that she lives in Alchevsk. She said she got there well. "First, we received passports, and then they brought us to the polling station [...] I hope that these elections will bring some kind of stability. I would like to become part of Russia, but now everything is so incomprehensible. Everything is calm with us now, I work. But many young people cannot find work," the woman from the self-proclaimed Lugansk People's Republic has complained.
