Four residents of Ingushetia accused of preparing terror acts

Investigators have charged two of the four locals arrested in Ingushetia with plotting terror acts; the other two were accused of assisting supporters of the "Islamic State" (IS)*.

On September 6, the Russian FSB (Federal Security Bureau) reported the detention of four IS* supporters, who are suspected of preparing terror acts and attacks on law enforcers. Firearms and edged weapons, improvised explosive and incendiary devices, as well as components for making them were seized from the detainees' residences, law enforcers have reported.

Two suspects have been charged under the article on participation in the activities of a terrorist organization; the other two – under the article on complicity in participation in a terrorist organization and failure to report a crime, the Investigating Department (ID) for Ingushetia of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) has reported on its website.

According to investigators, two residents of Ingushetia had joined the IS* and sworn allegiance to its leader. They were going to commit terror acts, including attacks on law enforcers and military servicemen with the use of improvised explosive devices and cold weapons; they were also engaged in promoting terrorist ideology, investigators believe. Two other local residents agreed to help IS* supporters and look for places for its camp.
