Azerbaijan accuses Armenia of shelling

Armenian militaries have shelled the Azerbaijani positions stationed in the Sadarak District of the Nakhichevan Autonomous Republic (NAR), as well as in the Kelbadjar and Gadabay Districts, the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defence (MoD) has stated.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on August 16, Armenia accused Azerbaijan of shelling two villages. Baku refuted this information and accused Armenian militaries of shelling the positions of Azerbaijani servicemen located in the village of Yukhary Airym of the Kelbadjar District.

In the evening on August 16, Armenian militaries shelled the positions of the Azerbaijani Army in the Nakhichevan, Kelbadjar and Gadabay directions, the Azerbaijani MoD has reported. "On August 16, from 7:55 p.m. to 8:20 p.m., units of the Armenian Armed Forces opened periodical fire, from their positions in the settlement of Arazdeyen of the Vedi District, from sniper rifles, submachine and machine guns, at the positions of the Azerbaijani Army in the direction of the Heydarabad settlement of the Sadarak District of the NAR," says the statement posted on the Telegram channel of the Azeri MoD at night on August 17, adding that until 9:20 p.m., fire was delivered from the Armenian positions located in the villages of Ashagi Shordja and Yukhary Shordja of the Basarkecheyar District at the Azerbaijani positions in the direction of the villages of Yellidja and Zeilik of the Kelbadjar District.
