Kadyrov nominated as a candidate for leader of Chechnya
Ramzan Kadyrov submitted documents to participate in the September election for the leader of Chechnya, the Chechen Election Commission reports.
The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that on June 23, participants in the World Congress of the Peoples of Chechnya called on Ramzan Kadyrov to nominate himself for participation in the election for the leader of the region, which will be held on September 19. Ramzan Kadyrov promised to voice the position of the Chechen people to Vladimir Putin, and on the same day, he did so, after which the Russian President recommended Ramzan Kadyrov to participate in the autumn election in order to continue to lead Chechnya.
Ramzan Kadyrov has submitted documents for nomination as a candidate from the “Edinaya Rossiya” (United Russia) Party for the election of the leader of the region for a new term, the Chechen Election Commission reports.
Let us remind you that in 2016, Ramzan Kadyrov was elected for a third term. According to the official information, he won 97% of the votes. Even before the voting, residents of Chechnya claimed that the outcome of the election was determined in advance. The Ramzan Kadyrov’s 14-year experience as the leader of Chechnya is the longest among the leaders of the Russian regions.
