Speaker of Chechen Parliament treats reports about threats to Ingushes as provocation

Magomed Daudov, Speaker of the Chechen Parliament, has demanded to present proofs of his threats to Magomed Khazbiev and Magomed Bekov. Chechen authorities are trying to oppose the Ingush activists who continue challenging the border agreement with Chechnya, said Akhmed Buzurtanov, a journalist.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on May 4, Magomed Khazbiev, an Ingush activist, said that Magomed Daudov, Speaker of the Chechen Parliament, and Adam Delimkhanov, a State Duma MP, declared a blood feud to him after a video criticizing the Chechen authorities for a tough reaction to the terrorist attack in Grozny, committed by natives of Ingushetia. Law enforcers offered Khazbiev the state guard, but the activist rejected it. Today, Magomed Bekov, an advocate, said that he had received a messenger message "with indirect threats" on behalf of the Speaker of the Chechen parliament. Bekov has linked the threats with his publication in support of Khazbiev.

Daudov has called the reports on threats to Khazbiev and Bekov a provocation.

In his turn, Akhmed Buzurtanov, the editor-in-chief of the Ingush edition "The Sixth Portal", has treated the threats to Khazbiev and Bekov as a "spring aggravation" among Kadyrov people. He has linked these threats with the protests against the Chechen-Ingush border agreement.

"All these actions are caused by the understanding that the Ingush society, despite all the threats, has not given up the idea of revising the agreement of seizing a part of Ingush territory in favour of Kadyrov's Chechnya," Mr Buzurtanov wrote on the Facebook.

According to his version, Chechen authorities are still offended by the results of their visit to Ingushetia in 2018.
