Russian MoD reports on food distribution among refugees in Aknaberd

Russian militaries have handed over a ton of humanitarian aid collected by NGOs and charitable organizations to refugees in the Karabakh village of Aknaberd, including foodstuffs, medical kits and basic necessities, the Russian Ministry of Defence (MoD) has informed.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Russian peacemakers systematically ensure the delivery of humanitarian aid to residents of Nagorno-Karabakh.

Thus, peacemakers have transferred to large families, forced migrants and refugees now living in the village of Aknaberd (the Azerbaijani name is Umudlu, – note of the "Caucasian Knot") of the Shaumyan District (now included in the Goranboy District of Azerbaijan – note of the "Caucasian Knot") of Nagorno-Karabakh, foodstuff and medical kits and essentials. In total, more than a ton of humanitarian aid was delivered to villagers, which was collected by Russian charitable organizations, the Russian MoD has reported on its website today.

Also, local residents received medical care. "Mainly, it [medical care] was provided to large families and families of forced migrants. Consultative and highly qualified medical help was rendered to more than 100 villagers," said Colonel Dmitry Perepyolkin, a member of the Russian peacemaking contingent in Nagorno-Karabakh.
