On January 11-17, no data received on any victims of armed conflict in Northern Caucasus

During the week of January 11-17, 2021, no casualties or victims were recorded during the ongoing armed conflict in Northern Caucasus. These are the results of the calculations run by the "Caucasian Knot" based on its own materials and information from other open sources.

Special and counterterrorist operations

On January 15, law enforcers again raided the "Tangim" Mosque in Makhachkala. Some 40-45 policemen conducted the raid; they stopped the cars leaving the mosque and recorded the drivers' personal data.

Detentions

On January 12, it became known about the arrest in Makhachkala of the exorcist Ibragim (Mukhammad) Ibalaev. He is accused of illegal weapon possession. Ibragim Ibalaev told his advocate that in Buinaksk, on his way home, unknown masked men tied him up and dragged into a silver-coloured "Priora" car. They immediately put a bag over his head, roped his hands, brought him to some room and began beating him up; then, they torture him with electric current, demanding "confess to possessing a grenade and a pistol." Then he was brought to Makhachkala. There, the bag was taken off, and unknown people, who failed to introduce themselves, first put a pistol behind his belt and a grenade into his bag. Then they called a man in a police uniform to the venue, who, in front of invited witnesses, conducted a personal search and found the pistol and the grenade.

Disappearances

On January 12, it became known that on December 29, 2020, law enforcers detained Akhmed Kabilov, a 27-year-old resident of the Zavodskoi District of Grozny. About fifteen law enforcers broke into the Kabilovs' house, searched it and took Akhmed Kabilov out into the street, not allowing him to put on warm clothes. The law enforcers failed to introduce themselves and presented no documents. During the search, Akhmed's phone and two his mother's phones were seized; law enforcers found nothing illegal in the house. After Akhmed was detained, his relatives turned to the local district policeman, who told them that Akhmed was kept at one of police stations in Grozny and that "they were going to convict him." His family has no other information about Kabilov.
