Detentions

On December 25, as a result of a special operation, four members of a unit of the "Islamic State" (IS), the terrorist organization banned in Russia by the court were detained. According to law enforcers, the grouping had planned to trigger an explosion at the buildings of law enforcement bodies and attack the employees of the Dagestani Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA). Firearms and edged weapons, a large amount of ammunition and an explosive device were found in the hideout; and in their mobile phones – correspondence with coordinators of terrorist activities residing abroad. The detainees are from 25 to 28 years old; they had no clear plan of the terror act; they just intended to attack policemen with knives or firearms, and then commit suicide, an informed source told the details.
