Prosecutor asks ten years in prison for attempted killer of blogger Abdurakhmanov

The prosecution has asked to sentence two defendants in the case on the attempted murder of the blogger, Tumso Abdurakhmanov, in Sweden to ten and eight years in prison accordingly.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the attack on Abdurakhmanov was committed on February 26, but the blogger managed to disarm the man who had entered his apartment with a hammer. The accused Ruslan Mamaev has partially admitted his guilt. He insists that he had not planned to kill the blogger, but could not disobey the persons who sent him to Sweden from Grozny. The woman, who is accused of aiding the attacker, completely denies her guilt.

The forensic psychiatric examination has found Mamaev and his alleged accomplice as sane and, thus, fully responsible for their actions, Tumso Abdurakhmanov said on his Telegram channel.

The sentencing is scheduled for January 8, 2021, but Abdurakhmanov fears that the sentence will be too lenient.

Let us remind you that Abdurakhmanov could not receive asylum in Georgia and Poland, but did not abandon his public disputes with Chechen officials. After one of such disputes, Magomed Daudov, Speaker of the Chechen Parliament, announced a blood feud against the blogger.
