Azerbaijan to celebrate date of signing of peace agreement as a holiday
The Victory Day will be celebrated annually in Azerbaijan on November 10, the day of the conclusion of the trilateral peace agreement. The Day of Remembrance of the Deceased will be marked on September 27, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliev announces.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the Lachin District (the Armenian name is Berdzor District, – note of the "Caucasian Knot") came under the control of the Azerbaijani troops on December 1, with the exception of a five-kilometre-wide corridor providing communication between Nagorno-Karabakh and Armenia.
Over 44 days of the hostilities in Karabakh, more than 300 cities, towns, and villages came under the control of the Azerbaijani army, the website of the Azerbaijani President reports.
The Victory Day "will perpetuate this unprecedented victory, which has become a holiday of the strength of our people and our national pride and is of exceptional importance for the prestige of the state," stated Ilham Aliev in his resolution as quoted by the RBC.
According to the General Prosecutor's Office of Azerbaijan, in the period since the beginning of the escalation of the conflict until November 30, 98 civilians have been killed and 414 others have been injured.
