Azerbaijani authorities impose curfew in regained territories

Azerbaijan has imposed a curfew in villages, towns, and cities lost by Nagorno-Karabakh under the terms of the peace agreement. Azerbaijani police stations have been opened in Shusha and Hadrut.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on November 10, an agreement between Russia, Azerbaijan, and Armenia on the cessation of the hostilities in Nagorno-Karabakh came into force. According to the agreement, Azerbaijan takes over the territories of Nagorno-Karabakh captured during the hostilities and gets the so-called "Security Belt", that is, returns the territories of five districts adjacent to Karabakh.

The curfew is being imposed on the territories that have been taken over by Azerbaijan. In accordance with the presidential decree "On the organization of temporary special administration in the territories liberated from occupation of the Republic of Azerbaijan" dated October 29, 2020, Azerbaijani police stations are being opened in those territories. The police stations will serve as temporary commandant's offices for the administration of the annexed areas.

The first district police departments have been opened in the city of Shusha (the Armenian name is Shushi, – note of the "Caucasian Knot") and the town of Hadrut, the "Sputnik Azerbaijan" reports today.
