Russia starts deploying peacemakers in Nagorno-Karabakh
The first aircrafts with Russian soldiers have flown to Nagorno-Karabakh; the Russian Ministry of Defence (MoD) has started deploying its peacemaking contingent there.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that leaders of Azerbaijan, Armenia and Russia had signed a statement on an armistice in the Karabakh conflict zone. One of its points is the deployment of Russian peacemakers along the contact line in Nagorno-Karabakh and along the corridor connecting it with Armenia.
Today, from 6:00 a.m. Moscow time, the Russian MoD has started deploying peacemakers in Nagorno-Karabakh. The first Il-76 planes flew to the region, the "Kommersant" writes with reference to the MoD.
According to the MoD, Russia will send 1960 peacemakers and 470 pieces of equipment to Nagorno-Karabakh.
