Azerbaijani villagers tell about consequences of new shelling

On Thursday, villages in the frontline Azerbaijani districts came under fire again; houses were damaged, local residents have informed, noting that they continue harvesting crops in such conditions.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that dwelling settlements of the Goranboy, Terter and Agdjabedi Districts located in the Karabakh conflict zone were shelled, the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defence (MoD) has reported. At night, according to the MoD, positions of Azerbaijani stationed troops on the border with Armenia were also shelled from mortars.

After the shelling on November 3, it was relatively calm in the village of Garakhanly, Agdjabedi District, situated 20 kilometres from the frontline. The shelling resumed on Thursday, but no people were hurt, said local resident, Teimur Gasymov. He has noted that villagers continue their agricultural works.

Residents of the village of Sakhlabad, Terter District, also continue their agricultural activities, despite the shelling. "Now is the season for harvesting cabbage and persimmons. This is the source of our incomes. We can't lose the crops. We had feared that we would not be able to sell our crops at all, but wholesalers are coming to buy our products," Israfil Aliev has stated.
