In Nagorno-Karabakh, key motorway closed because of an armed clash with saboteurs

At night on November 4, a group of saboteurs from Azerbaijan was discovered near the city of Shushi, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) of Armenia reported. The Defence Army of Karabakh announced the partial closure of the Shushi-Berdzor motorway for residents in connection with the search for sabotage groups.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that today, the Ministry of Defence of Azerbaijan has claimed that the troops of Nagorno-Karabakh are shelling five villages in the Terter and Aghjabadi Districts, while the Armenian armed forces were striking villages in the border Agdam District. In turn, Nagorno-Karabakh reported about casualties among civilians as a result of a shelling attack on the city of Shushi.

In Karabakh, some sections of the Shushi-Berdzor motorway (the Azerbaijani name is Lachin, – note of the "Caucasian Knot") are closed for residents in connection with the search for saboteurs from Azerbaijan, the Nagorno-Karabakh Ministry of Defence reports on Facebook.

Two motorways – Stepanakert-Shushi-Goris-Yerevan and Stepanakert-Martakert-Sotk-Vardenis-Yerevan – connect Nagorno-Karabakh with Armenia. The unrecognized republic has no other transport connections with the outside world.

Earlier today, a sabotage group of Azerbaijani military personnel has been discovered near the city of Shushi, reports Shushan Stepanyan, the press secretary for the MoD of Armenia. After midnight, the saboteurs tried to enter the territory in the direction of Shushi. As a result of a clash, the Azerbaijani military personnel suffered losses and were forced to retreat, Shushan Stepanyan reports on Facebook.
