At least 17 persons fell victim to missile attack on Azerbaijani village

Four residents of the village of Garayusifli of the Barda District, including a child, have perished; 13 others more were wounded in a shelling, the Azerbaijani Ministry for Emergencies (MfE) and Khikmet Gadjiev, an assistant to the president, have reported.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that full-scale hostilities began in Nagorno-Karabakh on September 27. On October 26, a new agreement on a humanitarian truce in the Karabakh conflict zone entered into force, but already in the first hours after it, the parties exchanged accusations of violating the truce.

On October 27, the Geranboy, Tartar and Barda Districts of Azerbaijan were exposed to intensive missile and artillery initiated by the Armenian Armed Forces; as reported by the press service of the country's General Prosecutor's Office (GPO), a seven-year-old girl is among the victims.

"Today, at about 4:00 p.m., as a result of heavy artillery shelling by the Armenian Armed Forces of the village of Garayusifli in the Barda District, the villagers, Djafarova, Ophelia Madjid gyzy, Akhmedova Aybyaniz Ashraf gyzy, Ismayilov Ekhtiram Khalil ogly, and a [girl] born in 2013, perished," says the GPO's statement.

Khikmet Gadjiev, the assistant to the President of Azerbaijan on foreign policy in the presidential administration, has confirmed, in his micro-blog on the Twitter, the death of a child in the missile attack.

However, in his post, published at 6:26 p.m. Moscow time, he cited other somewhat different data on the victims – four killed, including a two-year-old child, and 13 wounded persons.
