Armenia claims retaliation against Azerbaijan's armed forces
The Armenian troops attacked the positions of the Azerbaijani armed forces in the southern direction of the border in response to a shelling attack on border guards, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) of Armenia reported.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that full-scale hostilities began in Nagorno-Karabakh on September 27. On October 26, a new agreement on a humanitarian truce in the Karabakh conflict zone entered into force, but already in the first hours after it, the parties exchanged accusations of violating the truce.

"In order to suppress an attempt of invasion by the Azerbaijani armed forces in the southern direction of the Armenian border, the Armenian border guards have taken preventive actions, and the enemy has suffered significant damage and losses," Stepan Shushanyan, the press secretary for the Armenian MoD, wrote on her Facebook page.
According to another report posted on the social network by the Armenian MoD's press secretary, the attack by the Armenian military personnel was a response to the actions of the Azerbaijani troops, which today, at about 10:00 a.m. local time, used unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and artillery to attack a border checkpoint in the south-eastern territory of Armenia, at the border with Iran. "The Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Armenia declares that it will have to retaliate in the direction of the Azerbaijani armed forces," the press secretary of the Armenian MoD has reported earlier.
Stepan Shushanyan has also reported about the wounded from the Armenian side as a result of the shelling attack of Azerbaijan.
