MoD of Nagorno-Karabakh counts 118 wounded civilians
The number of residents of Nagorno-Karabakh wounded during the hostilities has reached 118; more than 10,500 buildings were damaged, Artak Beglaryan, the Ombudsperson of Nagorno-Karabakh, has stated.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that from the start of the fighting and until October 17, a total of 37 civilians perished and 116 others were wounded. Azerbaijan reported that from September 27 to October 23, 293 civilians were wounded, 63 others perished; and today two more have died, including one of those wounded on October 17.
Mr Beglaryan has noted that there are missing persons among civilians, in particular, in the areas where military operations were underway. Now, the cities of Martakert and Martuni, as well as some dwelling settlements of the Gadrut District, are under attack, the Ombudsperson has added.
According to his story, on October 23, there were no victims of shelling among the population, but a resident of the village of Avetaranots in the Askeran District was wounded.
"In general, people understand that they are at great risk; and they spend more time of the day in bomb shelters. Therefore, the statistics on casualties and wounded ones doesn't change much," Artak Beglaryan has noted.
