Instagram users criticize law enforcers for video of shootout in Dagestan
The Dagestani police have posted a video from the scene of a shootout in which law enforcers killed two men tonight. Social network users have found the version of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) as unconvincing and demanded to provide evidence that the killed men were the first to open fire.
Sources have reported today that in the Kizilyurt District, law enforcers shot and killed the driver and the passenger of the car, who opened fire in response to a demand to show their documents.
The shootout occurred at 1:15 a.m. Moscow time in the "Kavkaz" Federal Highway near the village of Kulzeb, Kizilyurt District, the Dagestani MIA has confirmed on its Instagram page. "The police did not suffer. The service car received multiple bullet holes," says the message.
The MIA's post is illustrated with a video made in the darkness. The footage shows a passenger car and the bodies of two men near the car. On the knees of one of them, who is leaning against the open door of the car, there is a submachine gun. The body of the second man lies on the other side of the car, a pistol with a silencer is visible on the ground next to him. Also, numerous bullet holes are seen in the windshield and side door of the police car.
Authors of many comments in social networks have expressed distrust of the police version. "I would like to see a video from the patrol car or from an outdoor camera in order to understand who fired and how," the user shamiln725re ha written. "I join," the user monaco_pubgm has agreed. "And where is the moment when they opened fire on the policemen, where are the proofs?" the user tishina_555 has asked.
