Chechnya: observance of mask regime is quite formal

The residents of Chechnya interviewed by the "Caucasian Knot" have admitted that, despite the strict demands to observe the mask regime, they follow it just formally and use the same mask for a long time.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the mask regime in Chechnya was tightened after Ramzan Kadyrov's indignation in July that while walking in Grozny, he met no people wearing medical masks. Meanwhile, Kadyrov himself and his close subordinates are ignoring the mask regime.

A report about the check of the observance of the mask regime in public places was posted on the Instagram by the "Grozny TV". The author of the story expressed her confidence that more than half of the Chechen population treat the demand to wear masks "with understanding."

Instagram users have criticized the above demand.

"It's a good thing, at least, that they don't force us to wear masks at home," the user ersno.as has noted.

Some local residents have noted that they follow the mask regime "purely formally."

"I carry a mask in my pocket; so that if they pick on me, I can promptly put it on. Almost all my acquaintances do this ... What is most interesting, neither Ramzan Kadyrov, nor his retinue themselves follow this mask regime," the user Adam has noted.

By September 7, in Chechnya, the number of infected people reached 2307.
