On August 10-16, nobody fell victim to armed conflict in Northern Caucasus
During the week from August 10 to 16, 2020, no casualties or victims were recorded during the armed conflict in Northern Caucasus. These are the results of the calculations run by the "Caucasian Knot" based on its own materials and information from other open sources.
Special and counterterrorist operations
On August 14, law enforcers held another raid near the "Tangim" Mosque located in Omarov Street in Makhachkala. Up to 45 law enforcers took part in the raid. They stopped cars leaving the mosque yard and checked the drivers' documents.
On August 15, law enforcers blocked the micro-district at the junction of the settlements of Kyakhulay and Tarki; both of which are administratively parts of the city of Makhachkala. Presumably, law enforcers are screening the forest in search of a group of young men who escaped from home after leaving notes. There is no information about the results of the operation yet.
Detentions
On August 16, in Makhachkala, the capital of Dagestan, as a result of the joint efforts of the FSB, the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) and the "Rosgvardia" (Russian National Guard), five alleged members of an armed grouping were revealed and taken to the police. According to the FSB, they had planned to commit a series of armed attacks on law enforcers in Makhachkala, Khasavyurt and Derbent. The age of the detainees is from 15 to 17 years, all of them are residents of Dagestan. During personal searches, cold arms and camouflage uniforms were seized from them. It is unclear from the reports whether it is about the same people whom they had been looking for during the special operation since August 15 in the area of the settlements of Kyakhulay and Tarki.
