Chechnya's borders remain closed for tourists due to coronavirus
This summer, the tourist season in Chechnya has not been opened; only local residents spend their vacations in the republic's resorts, because under the coronavirus epidemic the borders of Chechnya are closed for foreign tourists, the resort workers interviewed by the "Caucasian Knot" assert.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that since June 26, the resorts "Veduchi", Kezenoi-Am" and "Sernovodsky-Kavkazsky" in Chechnya were opened as part of the third phase of lifting restrictive measures introduced due to coronavirus, which surprised local residents.
"Now, only local residents are resting at the resort; there are no visitors from outside. We still have closed borders due to the pandemic; we are forced to refuse receiving people," said Uni Uspanov, Director General of the "Kezenoi-Am" tourist complex.
According to his story, no one knows when they will open the borders and remove the posts. "They told me that the head of the republic spoke on the 'Grozny' TV and said that, after lifting some restrictions, the epidemiological situation in the republic has worsened; they monitor how many more people are sick or not; and then a decision will be made. Everyone really hopes that the situation will stabilize, and it will be possible to accept tourists from other regions, because under the quarantine, our financial situation has worsened," the entrepreneur said.
