Action demanding to open restaurants in Yerevan ended with detentions

Policemen have drawn up protocols on ten protesters outside the Armenian government building. They complained that they had been unemployed for five months due to the closure of restaurants.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that due to the difficult situation with coronavirus, Armenia has extended the emergency regime.

On July 9, employees of the restaurant business gathered in front of the government building; they were dissatisfied with the continued ban on their work. They demanded to meet the government members. Apart from restaurateurs themselves, the action was attended by DJs, singers and event presenters, Ashot Barsegyan, a catering expert and the organizer of the action, has stated.

He has noted that because of ban on restaurants, more than 20,000 people lost their work.

The protesters failed to meet government members, as policemen dispersed them, Mr Barsegyan told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
