Dagestan: observers report multiple voting and ballot stuffing

Over 80 observers from the "Solidarity and Freedom" Committee, who monitored the voting on constitutional amendments in Dagestan, revealed facts of ballot stuffing, voting for relatives, the use of administrative resources and other violations. At one of the republic's polling stations, voters were given several ballots at once, as noted at the "Violations Map" of the "Golos" (Vote) movement.

Managers of Makhachkala organizations were forcing their employees to vote for the amendments, threatening to deprive them of premiums, local residents have reported. The Chair of the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Dagestan said that he had no information about any violations during the vote. The residents of Makhachkala, who voted earlier, reported that they liked the patriotic music and disposable masks, gloves and pens that were handed out at polling stations.

The data of public observers testify to the facts of violations at polling stations during the voting in Dagestan, said Denga Khalidov, the chairman of the Republic's Public Committee "Solidarity and Freedom".

According to his version, the practice was observed in mountainous districts of the republic, when the head of the family voted for all its members.

Each violation was recorded by observers and reported to the regional CEC.

"Let them take measures for the future. We can't leave it all as it is, so as not to completely profane the election procedures in Russia," Mr Khalidov has summed up.
