Dagestani residents indignant at limit on number of spectators of Victory Parade
In Kaspiysk, only people with special permits were allowed to enter a square to watch the today's Victory Parade. Residents of Kaspiysk and Makhachkala, who were not allowed to watch the parade, criticized organizers.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the authorities of Dagestan decided to hold the Victory Parade despite the difficult epidemiological situation in the region. The authorities' decision was criticized on Instagram. Users of the social network note that such events are inappropriate during the epidemic and suggested that the authorities should spend money to help those who lost their income.
This morning, in connection with the parade, law enforcers have cordoned off Lenin Avenue near the central square of Kaspiysk. Cars were allowed to pass this area only with special permits. The law enforcers installed metal detector frames to check pedestrians. Near one of such metal detector frames, the law enforcers told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that passage without a permit or invitation was prohibited.
Residents of Kaspiysk and Makhachkala, who came to the parade without special permits, had to stand behind the fence. They could hardly see the procession from there. Many people openly expressed their dissatisfaction. They commented on the situation: "What for they arrange such a parade? Let's better go to the sea", "And who was aware of the need for invitations? Where did they notify about that?", "For whom do they arrange all that if people cannot watch it?"
