Faig Amirli re-arrested for 15 days

Faig Amirli, an assistant to the chairman of the Popular Front Party of Azerbaijan (PFPA), has been arrested for 15 days. This is his second administrative arrest within the past six weeks.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Faig Amirli, an assistant to the PFPA head, was detained on April 8, and on the following day, the court sentenced him to 30 days of administrative arrest on charges of violating the quarantine regime.

Faig Amirli, who is also the financial director of the "Azadlyg" newspaper, was detained on May 25 in the city of Sabirabad, and on the same day, he was sentenced to 15 days of administrative arrest on charges of petty hooliganism, his wife Lala Amirli told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

She has recalled that Faig Amirli was arrested for the second time within the six weeks.

Gezyal Bairamly, the PFPA Deputy Chair, has treated the Amirli's new arrest as a continuation of the "unprecedented repressive campaign against the PFPA."
