Five Endirey residents killed during CTO identified

Five of the six alleged militants killed in Dagestan have been identified. The wounded participant in the counterterrorist operation (CTO) is in grave condition, the TASS has informed.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on May 22, six people were killed in a shootout with law enforcers in a forest in the Khasavyurt District, whom the Russian National Antiterrorism Committee (NAC) declared to be militants. The casualties had ties with the "Islamic State" (IS or ISIL), a terrorist organization banned in the Russian Federation by the court, and had planned terror acts, the NAC has stated.

The alleged militants are remnants of the "Endirey" grouping, the source said.

All the six casualties were natives of the village of Endirey, the source said, noting that they "had failed to gain conspiracy experience, and were easily detected by operative agents."

The young men aged from 19 to 23 had planned attacks on the heads of rural settlements and policemen, but actively used mobile phones and the Internet for communication. For the first time they managed to escape, but on the second time, they opened fire and wounded a law enforcer.

The casualties have been identified as Khanarslan and Djanarslan Gadjaliev, Elbrus Gadjimuradov, Ibragim Ustarkhanov and Rashidkhan Khasankhanov. The sixth one has not yet been identified, the "Kommersant" has reported with reference to its source.
