Sochi residents face difficulties due to coronavirus quarantine

During the special quarantine regime introduced in Sochi, medics are forced to work under heavy conditions, without protective means and for low salaries, hospital staff has complained. In their turn, entrepreneurs inform that because of the restrictions, their businesses are on the brink of bankruptcy.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that since March 31, residents of the Krasnodar Territory are forbidden to leave their homes; travels by personal transport are possible in exceptional cases based on special permits.

Residents of Sochi complain that walks are prohibited, although they admit that this is dangerous. "We are all under house arrest. This is terrible. Although I understand that the situation is dangerous," Tamara Ivanovna, a 70-year-old pensioner, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

Local health workers have told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that they are working on a tight schedule, and their salaries are low.

"We work without protective means. They force us to take tests from patients, but we don't know whether they are infected or not. We are constantly at risk," said an employee of the infection hospital.

Zinaida, an entrepreneur, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that she owns a clothing store. "We closed back in March. I don't know what we will live with our family for," Zinaida has complained.

The restaurateurs, the spouses, Lyubov and Vladimir, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that their restaurant is closed; and they have no funds to pay wages to their employees.
