Disappeared resident of Kaspiysk found in SIZO
Kurban-Magomed Medjidov, a visitor to the Makhachkala "Tangim" Mosque, who disappeared after he was taken away by law enforcers, was arrested on the charge of financing terrorism.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Kurban-Magomed Medjidov, a resident of Kaspiysk, was taken away by law enforcers at night on March 11-12. Friends of the disappeared man began to worry about him after he did not contact them for a long time.
Today, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent has been told by journalist Idris Yusupov that Kurban-Magomed Medjidov was found in the city of Yessentuki, where he was taken into custody for two months. According to Idris Yusupov, Kurban-Magomed Medjidov is accused of financing terrorism, and an advocate appointed by the state attended a hearing when the court pronounced a pre-trial restriction measure in the form of detention in a SIZO (pre-trial prison). A wife of Kurban-Magomed Medjidov and their children stay at home, the journalist reports.
Eduard Kalashnikov, an advocate appointed by the state, confirmed to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that Kurban-Magomed Medjidov was accused of financing terrorism and that the Yessentuki City Court had pronounced a pre-trial restriction measure in the form of detention. The defender noted that Kurban-Magomed Medjidov had refused to testify. Eduard Kalashnikov does not know whether Kurban-Magomed Medjidov pleads guilty, since, according to the advocate, the detainee does not understand what is happening to him.
