Four republics of Northern Caucasus become outsiders in unemployment rating

Chechnya, Dagestan, North Ossetia, and Ingushetia showed the worst figures in the rating of Russian regions in terms of unemployment. The best regions in Southern Russia are the Rostov Region and the Stavropol Territory.

Today, on March 16, the "Rating" agency  has released a rating of the Russian regions in terms of unemployment rate, following the results of November 2019-January 2020. The rating was based on the data collected by the "Rosstat" (Russian Federal Statistics Service).

Among the regions of Southern Russia, the lowest unemployment rate was registered in the Rostov Region (the 41st place) and the Stavropol Territory (the 42nd place), where the unemployment rate reached 4.6 percent.

Among the regions of the North-Caucasian Federal District (NCFD), the best result was achieved by Kabardino-Balkaria (the 78th place), where the unemployment rate was 11.2 percent. Karachay-Cherkessia (the 79th place) with 11.4 percent is slightly behind it.

Other republics of Northern Caucasus became outsiders of the rating. Chechnya occupies the 82nd place with 13.5 percent of unemployment. Dagestan takes the 83rd place with a similar figure. North Ossetia was in the 84th place with 13.6 percent, and the rating is closed with Ingushetia (the 85th place), which got behind other republics with 26.3 percent of unemployment.
