Second in three days Azerbaijani border guard dies

Eltun Garaev, a soldier, was mortally wounded on the border with Armenia. Like Orkhan Pashazade, another border guard, who died on March 5, Garaev was on an alert duty in the Gazakh District of Azerbaijan.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in the evening on March 5, Orkhan Pashazade, a soldier, was mortally wounded on the border with Armenia. The Azerbaijani State Frontier Service (ASFS) then stated that the soldier perished at a combat point in the village of Guschu Airym in the Gazakh District as a result of a shelling attack from the Armenian side.

Today, at 5:40 a.m., Eltun Garaev, a soldier, was mortally wounded at a military post near the village of Dash Salakhly, Gazakh District, when on combat duty. He was taken to the Gazakh Diagnostic Centre, but doctors could not save his life, the "Turan" News Agency has cited the ASFS.

This morning, the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defence (MoD) announced 24 shelling attacks on its positions with the use of heavy machine guns.
