Residents of Azerbaijan complain about coronavirus quarantine conditions

The residents of Azerbaijan placed under coronavirus quarantine report dirty bedding and absence of heating and water in hospitals.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that three cases of coronavirus infection were confirmed by laboratories in Azerbaijan, and in connection with the above, the country's authorities closed the border with Iran for two weeks.

Rakhilya Mastalieva was quarantined at the Astara Central District Hospital on February 26, after her return with her niece from Iran, where they underwent a medical examination.

"We were given no masks, no gloves, and no clean bedding. There was even no water in toilets," Ms Mastalieva told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

According to her story, the situation changed only three days later, after a video clip appeared on the Internet about the situation in the hospital.

A video with complaints of quarantined Azerbaijanis was posted in the page of the Azerbaijani media NGO "Meydan TV" on the Facebook on March 2. The footage shows the absence of repairs in hospital wards, beds without linen, and no tap and water in the bathroom sink. The subtitles say that the Astara District Hospital has no heating, while the Jalilabad District Hospital is cordoned off by policemen and people in white chemical suits. The authors of the clip comment that quarantined Azerbaijani citizens demand examination by doctors, who are absent in medical institutions.
