Georgian activist hospitalized after beating

Zviad Kuprava, the head of the "Centre for Law Enforcement Reform", who was beaten at his home in Tbilisi on February 27, was hospitalized with injuries. The activist associated the attack on him with his political activities.

According to Zviad Kuprava, unidentified persons poured chemical liquid into him and beat him.

"In February, I organized 10 actions. That is the answer of the authorities," the activist said on the air of the "Mtavari Arkhi" TV Company.

Let us remind you that on October 2, 2019, in Tbilisi, the court fined Zviad Kuprava 1000 laris (about 337 US dollars) for beating advocate Irakli Zakareishvili and insulting him.

In June 2018, Zviad Kuprava became one of the organizers of the action held in protest against the court's decision in the case on the murder of two schoolchildren in Tbilisi. Zviad Kuprava and three other activists were detained, and later, the court sentenced Zviad Kuprava to nine months of imprisonment.
