Republics of Northern Caucasus notable for high unemployment rate
The December 2019 "Employment and Unemployment Rating in the Russian Federation", published by the Federal State Statistics Service, has shown that in the last quarter of 2019, the worst employment situation was observed in the regions of the North-Caucasian Federal District (NCFD).
The last, 85th place in the employment list is occupied by Ingushetia – the unemployment rate here is 26.3%.
Chechnya is ranked 84th with the unemployment rate of 13.6%.
North Ossetia-Alania takes the 83rd place with the unemployment level of 13.4%.
Dagestan takes the fourth position from the end, the 82nd place, with the unemployment rate fixed at 13%.
Kabardino-Balkaria takes the 79th place in the ranking with the unemployment rate of 11%; and Karachay-Cherkessia is one place higher with this indicator at 10.7%.
In Quarter 4 of 2019, the best employment situation was demonstrated by the Stavropol Territory, where the unemployment rate is 4.2%; here, the situation is better than the national average, which in Russia makes 4.6%.
