Dagestani law enforcers detain brother of preacher Abu Umar of Sasitli

Law enforcers have searched the house of Saadu Akhmednabiev, the brother of the Muslim preacher Abu Umar of Sasitli; and then, took Saadu away in a helicopter, his father Saigidakhmed Akhmednabiev has informed.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on December 13, 2018, the Russia's FSB announced the detention of seven persons suspected of raising over 38 million roubles for militants of the "Islamic State" (IS) and the "Djabhat-an-Nusra", terrorist organizations banned in Russia by the court. The Muslim preacher Abu Umar of Sasitli (Israil Akhmednabiev) was named as the organizer of the network for the financial support of terrorists; funds for them were raised under the pretext of building mosques.

On December 7, law enforcers searched the house of the preacher's brother, the "Kavkaz.Realii" has reported.

"He travelled abroad more than once; he always passed customs posts without any problems. He hasn't even been on the 'prophylactic registry'," said Akhmednabiev Senior.

Let us remind you that since June 18, 2019, Abdulmumin Gadjiev, the editor of the religion section of the Dagestani "Chernovik" (Draft) weekly, is also under arrest within the case of financing terrorism.
