Opponents of Georgian authorities refuse to unite

Three rallies of oppositional forces were held in Tbilisi. Despite similar demands put forward to the authorities, the rally participants decided not to unite.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that since November 14, a round-the-clock protest action is on in Tbilisi, launched after the failure of the vote for a bill on changing the electoral system.

On November 17, three rallies were held by oppositional parties in Tbilisi. Two of them were organized by pro-Western parties, and one – by the "Alliance of Patriots" and the "Georgian March" Parties.

Opposition leaders have counted from 20 to 25 thousand of their supporters, who gathered in front of the parliament. However, the police officially announced the figure of 5500 people, who took part in all protests on that day, the "News-Georgia" has reported.

Another rally was held by members of the "Shevtsavle" public movement, who at about 6:00 p.m. local time separated from the general group of demonstrators near the parliament and headed to the office of the "Georgian Dream" Party located in Sharden Street.

The participants of the rally held by the "Alliance of Patriots" and the "Georgian March" also demanded changes in the country, but refused to rally in front of the parliament building.

"Our leaders are right to state that there are only two forces left – we and Ivanishvili. And the rest of the opposition are flip-floppers. They work together with Ivanishvili and deceive the people," Irakli, a designer from Tbilisi, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
