On September 30-October 6, two persons fell victim to armed conflict in Northern Caucasus

During the week from September 30 to October 6, 2019, the North-Caucasian armed conflict resulted in at least two wounded persons; no information was received about the dead ones. These are the results of the calculations run by the "Caucasian Knot" based on its own materials and information from other open sources.

On September 30, at about 1:10 a.m. Moscow time, in the Ingush city of Karabulak, an 18-year-old local resident was stopped by policemen to check documents; he reacted aggressively, took out a knife and stabbed one of the policemen several times, the republic's Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) has reported. According to the MIA, the policemen used their service firearms; the attacker was wounded and hospitalized, one of the policemen received an arm injury.

Law enforcers' raids undertaken in Chechnya and Dagestan

Starting from September 30, law enforcers held door-by-door inspections in different district of Grozny. According to local residents, law enforcers arrived in several cars; some in black uniforms, others in camouflage, in helmets and with firearms; they went around apartments, checked tenants' passports, asking how many people lived there, where the men were, and if there were any strangers. The regional MIA branch explained that the checks were due to the City Day, marked on October 5.

On Friday, October 4, another law enforcers raid was organized near the "Tangim" Mosque situated in General Omarov Street in Makhachkala, the journalist, Idris Yusupov, who was present at the venue, informed. According to his story, law enforcers' mobile posts were deployed on both sides of the "Tangim" Mosque and at the exit from there to Gagarin Street, which made it possible to check the largest number of people leaving the mosque; dozens of employees from various security bodies took part in the raids. According to the Dagestani MIA's spokesman, nobody was detained during the raids.
