"Musavat" Party activist Abulfaz Sadygbeili interrogated in Azerbaijan

On September 17, Abulfaz Sadygbeili, an activist of the "Musavat" Party, serving his suspended sentence, was summoned and interrogated at the General Prosecutor's Office of Azerbaijan for two hours as a witness. Abulfaz Sadygbeili compared the situation with the case earlier instituted against him when he was first questioned as a witness, then charged and arrested.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on November 23, 2018, in Baku, a court decided to take Abulfaz Sadygbeili into custody for three months under the charge of fraud. Relatives of the activist reported that he was not allowed to contact them.

Abulfaz Sadygbeili was involved in a criminal case on the use of a loan for a car purchase, issued several years ago by a local bank. Human rights defenders recognized Abulfaz Sadygbeili as a political prisoner.

The activist has noted that he is still serving his suspended sentence in the earlier criminal case.
