Ingush woman complains about law enforcers' threats in colony

Law enforcers are putting pressure on Leyla Chemurzieva, accused of links with militants, demanding from her to testify against residents of Ingushetia unknown to her, her advocate has stated. One of the persons mentioned by law enforcers said that he had never heard of Chemurzieva.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in August 2016, Chemurzieva was sentenced to eight years in colony after the court found her guilty of participating in an illegal armed formation (IAF), illegal arms dealing and using violence against a state official. Chemurzieva had confessed under torture, her family has stated.

Leyla Chemurzieva, the widow of earlier assassinated militant Tachiev, was wounded on October 31, 2015, during a special operation conducted in the marketplace of Nazran. Then, she was accused of having links with Beslan Makhauri, the militant leader of the Sunzha District, and Ilyas Vedzizhev, the leader of the Nazran grouping; both were killed in that special operation. According to Leyla's relatives, she had not transported militants in her car, as investigators assert, but was driving to her hospitalized relative.

Chemurzieva told her advocate that on July 26, a female colony employee called her and invited to cooperate with law enforcers in exchange for "relief in her custody conditions."

For her refusal to give the necessary testimonies, they threatened to "increase her prison term" and hinted that her son, born in 2005, could be killed.
