21 people fell victim to armed conflict in Northern Caucasus in Q1 of 2019

Within the first quarter of 2019, at least 21 people fell victim to the armed conflict in Northern Caucasus; in particular, 16 persons were killed, and at least five more were wounded. These are the results of the calculations run by the "Caucasian Knot" based on its own materials and information from open sources.

Among the 16 casualties, there are 14 people involved, according to law enforcers, in militants' activities, and two law enforcers. Among the five wounded, there are four law enforcers and one civilian.

In Quarter 1 of 2019, in Kabardino-Balkaria, eight persons were killed: seven of them, according to law enforcers, were militants, and one was a law enforcer.

In Dagestan, four persons were killed as a result of the armed conflict. All the dead were alleged members of the armed underground.

In Ingushetia, in January-March 2019, four victims were recorded: one person was killed and three - wounded. The killed man was a law enforcer, while the wounded toll included a civilian and two law enforcers.

In Chechnya, during the same period, one militant was killed and two law enforcers were wounded.

In the Stavropol Territory, in the first quarter of 2019, two alleged members of the armed underground were killed.

In Karachay-Cherkessia and the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania, no victims to the armed conflict were recorded in Quarter 1 of 2019.
