In Tbilisi, LGBT activists demand resignation of the MIA head

Instead of the disrupted "March of Dignity", LGBT activists in Tbilisi held a rally outside the building of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of Georgia and demanded the resignation of the minister. Supporters of traditional values promised to disrupt the LGBT action, but missed each other.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on July 7, activists opposing the "March of Dignity" in Tbilisi decided to prevent it. After the received threats, LGBT activists refused to hold the march.

Today, about 20 people unfolded LGBT posters and flags outside the MIA building and called on the authorities to protect their rights.

Meanwhile, the clergymen, who opposed the LGBT actions, have held a prayer service in the park.

"We demand from the authorities to prohibit the propaganda of homosexuality in order to prevent homosexuals from working at school, in the army, and in state service," Guram Palavandishvili, the head of the Union of Orthodox Parents, said on air of the "Imedi" TV Company.
