Kadyrov demands apologies from Georgian authorities

The President and the Prime Minister of Georgia must apologize to President Vladimir Putin and all of Russia for the words of the journalist Giorgi Gabuniya pronounced on air of the "Rustavi-2" TV Company, Ramzan Kadyrov, the Chechen leader, has stated. He called for "imposing the toughest sanctions" on Georgia.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Giorgi Gabuniya, a TV presenter, spoke obscenely on Putin on air in a TV programme.

The presenter has insulted "the Russian people and every citizen of Russia separately," Kadyrov wrote in his Telegram channel.

Should apologies not follow within three days, the head of Chechnya has offered to "close all the roads leading to and from Georgia." Thus, he abandoned the idea of building a border crossing from Chechnya to Georgia.

Today, residents of Georgia have again come to hold a protest near the office of the "Rustavi-2" TV Company. Its bosses have remove Gabuniya from work for two months.
