Dagestan announces three days off on occasion of Eid al-Fitr

The authorities of Dagestan provided residents of Dagestan with more days off than for the celebration of Eid al-Fitr in 2018.

"It is announced to consider June 5, 6, and 7, 2019, as non-working holidays," reports the Government of Dagestan on its website.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in 2018, in Dagestan, on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr, the days off were announced on June 14 and 15.

Ramadan is the ninth month of the Muslim lunar calendar. During the month of fasting, Muslims must abstain from food during the daylight hours. The month of Ramadan ends with the holiday of Eid al-Fitr to break the fasting, and the holiday lasts for three days.

This year, the first day of the fasting of the Muslim month of Ramadan fell on May 6. Chechnya announced June 4, 5 and 6 to be days off on the occasion of the celebration of Eid al-Fitr.
