Sources report detention of nine militants in Chechnya

Members of a militant grouping have been detained in Chechnya with their weapons and grenades, the "Interfax" has reported, citing its source.

According to the source, in the winter of 2019, a 21-year-old native of Chechnya created a grouping of eight militants in Grozny. This April, law enforcers detained the alleged militants and seized their ammunition and weapons.

The alleged militants had "written loyalty oaths to 'Islamic State' (IS), a terrorist organization, banned in Russia by the court, on them" and planned attacks on law enforcers, the "Ren-TV" Channel has reported.

"The leader of the radical grouping ordered his subordinates to always carry explosive devices on them," says the message on the Telegram-channel "112".
