Five persons suspected of plotting terror acts in Chechnya and Dagestan
Five members of the "Islamic State" (IS), a terrorist organization banned in Russia by the court, were preparing attacks on law enforcers in the cities of Kaspiysk and Grozny, the Russian Federal Security Bureau (FSB) has informed.
According to the FSB, the detentions were conducted in Makhachkala and Grozny, the capitals of Dagestan and Chechnya. "Members of the grouping were preparing crimes of terrorist nature against policemen in Kaspiysk and Grozny," the FSB's Public Relations Centre has reported.
The detainees received instructions via the Internet on how to make improvised explosion devices (IEDs), the report says. The necessary components, as well as a revolver, four grenade launcher shots, two grenades, three combat knives, two Kalashnikov magazines, more than 80 rounds of ammunition and "suicidal records" were seized from them, the special services have reported.
