Akhmed Barakhoev is figurant of criminal case

The Ingush elder and protest leader, Akhmed Barakhoev, has not been released today from the IVS; and a criminal case was opened against him for using violence against law enforcers, his advocate has informed.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that today Musa Malsagov and Barakh Chemurziev, who had served their 10-day-long administrative arrests, were not released from the temporary detention centre (IVS) in Nalchik, but were detained, this time under newly instituted criminal cases. Malsagov is suspected of calling for riots and using violence against a power representative; and Chemurziev is suspected of attempted violence against a law enforcer.

Three leaders of the protests in Ingushetia – Akhmed Barakhoev, Musa Malsagov and Barakh Chemurziev – were detained after a rally in Magas and from April 3 were serving their 10-day-long administrative arrests at the temporary detention centre (IVS) in Nalchik.

A criminal case has also been opened against Akhmed Barakhoev, whose administrative arrest has also expired today, on using violence against a power official, Fatima Urusova, his advocate, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent today.

Let us remind you that since April 4, Barakhoev has been on a hunger strike at the IVS in Nalchik.
