Ingush activist arrested for two months

Bagaudin Khautiev, an activist who took part in protests in Ingushetia, was suspected of using violence against a state official, his advocate, Akhmed Abazov, has reported. According to Bagaudin's father, his son has no complaints about the custody conditions.

At least 12 activists detained in Ingushetia, including Bagaudin Khautiev, were brought to Nalchik. Adam Khautiev, Bagaudin's father, said that law enforcers failed to inform him on where his son had been taken.

On March 26, residents of Ingushetia extended their protest action in Magas without authorities' sanction. On the following day, there were clashes with law enforcers. According to investigators, ten policemen were injured in the clashes.

According to the advocate, Bagaudin Khautiev has been arrested for two months.

It should be noted here that earlier advocates and relatives reported that "illegitimate investigation methods" had been applied to some activists.
